Creating Opportunties to Motivate and Bring Success

Combs Infant School, High Peak, Derbyshire

Combs Infant School has always been proud of its high standard of care and achievement. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which meets the needs of all children. This includes the requirements of the National Curriculum, the Primacy Strategies, the Early Learning Goals and the Derbyshire Education Authority's agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

Within the "family" atmosphere of this small school we aim to foster a desire to learn, served by skills and knowledge, enabling the children to develop to their full potential.

We believe our children truly benefit from the close interaction of the other children, the parents and the community. We try to create an exciting and stimulating environment where children can be themselves and be happy, and where they are allowed to develop at a pace appropriate to their own individual needs.

Combs Infants received "Outstanding" from the Ofsted inspection in October 2006 and has been singled out as a " particularly successful school"  from two chief inspectors' reports to her Majesty the Queen, and a "Gold Star" status in the Times newspaper. We have also been awarded the " Health Promoting Schools Award" , the " DfES School Achievement Award", the " Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark 3", the "Active Sports Mark", the "National ICT Mark Award", the "ABC Award of Excellence" and the "Silver Eco Award". Please call us to arrange a visit to the school.
